The jack-up would be for drilling, work-overs and completion work in shallow waters, the state company said. The contract period would be for three years.
The company did not provide a schedule for the tender, nor did it specify where in the Persian Gulf it would be used.
The reference to shallow waters suggest the jack-up could be used for drilling near Kish island, where there is a giant gas reservoir, or further northwest in the Hendijan area, where there has been increasing drilling activity in recent years.
