Iran and Georgia are nearing agreement on the supply of Iranian gas via Armenia or Azerbaijan, according to senior officials in both countries.
The amount of gas involved would initially be minimal at about 14 million cubic feet per day for four months. Potential future business has not been specified.
The issue will be discussed when Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvil visits Tehran as a follow-up to a visit to Tbilisi last week by Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
