US President Donald Trump has fired his hawkish National Security Advisor John Bolton, who played a key role in Washington’s decision to reimpose sanctions that have decimated Iran’s oil exports over the Islamic Republic’s controversial nuclear programme, writes Nassir Shirkhani.
Bolton, who said he resigned, is a controversial figure closely linked to the 2003 invasion of Iraq and other hardline foreign policy decisions.
