Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has ruled out direct talks with the US, putting paid to the prospect of the first US-Iranian summit since the 1979 Islamic Revolution which put the two former close allies on a collision course.
The comments came in the wake of the devastating Saturday night drone attacks on key oil installations in Saudi Arabia, for which the US blames Iran.
