The proposal is being finalised as senior oil officials scale down ambitious output capacity targets set several years ago to a more modest goal of up to 5.5 million barrels per day by the end of the decade.
The studies will cover about 60 fields and will be tendered in packages of two or three fields each to local and foreign companies, starting later this year or next, sources said.
