Israel’s Supreme Court has ruled against controversial plans to develop the country’s flagship Leviathan offshore field in a serious blow both to partners in the block and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has vigorously advocated the project.
Netanyahu reached a landmark agreement last year with Texas-based Noble Energy and the local Delek Group that would leave them in charge of Leviathan while forcing them to sell smaller, yet sizeable, assets to pacify opposition.
