Last year Itera produced 18 billion cubic metres of gas and output is expected to rise to 25 Bcm this year, says president Valery Otchertsov. This is around 5% of Gazprom's total production of 520 Bcm.
Production may be increased to between 30 and 35 Bcm next year, according to Otchertsov. After Itera reaches its target output of 80 Bcm per year, Otchertsov expects the company will expand into gas refining, as profitable exports to Europe are monopolised by Gazprom, which does not allow independents to pump gas for export.
