Energy Ministry figures said the field will produce for 22 years, requiring total investments of $5.6 billion. Development will begin on the Tiputini field, located partly outside the national park.

Tiputini is also the chosen location for a central processing facility serving all three fields by 2018.

Three rigs will be put to work on each field, beginning with Tiputini next year, but the ministry report said no access roads will be built in Block 43.
