Heavy oil production from Ecuador’s Tiputini-Tambococha-Ishpingo (ITT) development will reach 80,000 barrels per day this month, up from year-end output of 64.000 bpd, according to state-run Petroamazonas, writes Gareth Chetwynd.

ITT’s production rose to 72,000 bpd in the first days of 2019, when Petroamazonas increased water processing and injection capacity, according to the company’s general manager Alex Galarraga.

“In a couple of weeks we expect production to get to 80,000 barrels per day and up to 100,000 by May,” he said.
