Hess has chartered a Maersk Drilling jack-up to drill an exploration well in the Danish sector of the North Sea later this year.
The US independent has taken the Maersk Resilient to spud the well on the Jill prospect in exploration licence 06/16. The charter is expected to begin in September and last around 35 days.
Upstream reported earlier this year that New York-based Hess was planning to bring forward drilling of the Jill well from 2020 to the second half of this year.
