Singapore’s Jadestone Energy has its eye on new drilling at the Montara oilfield off Australia after agreeing to buy the entire asset from Thai operator PTTEP.

The independent, which has also hatched plans for a secondary listing in London to go along with its Toronto listing, is also considering possible subsea tie-backs in the future that could turn Montara into a hub.

Jadestone and PTTEP early this week revealed the US$195 million deal that will see the former take over the latter’s 100% stake in the field.
