In the new offering, state-owned Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica hopes to hand out exploration licences for four onshore and 12 offshore blocks.
"The principle that will guide us in these agreements is flexibility," said Industry, Technology, Energy&Commerce Minister Phillip Paulwell during a presentation in Houston.
He added that, instead of working on a formal bid basis, the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica is taking a more active approach and wants to negotiate with companies.
