Chevron intends to carry out geophysical and geotechnical surveys over the proposed location of the Jansz-Io deep-water compression platform off Western Australia.
The Jansz-Io field is a major source of feedstock gas for the Chevron-led Gorgon liquefied natural gas plant.
Chevron plans to build and install a large compression platform to help sustain peak production at the Jansz-Io and other fields once reservoir pressure is reduced.
