The Brunei Darussalam Methanol Project Consortium will conduct a detailed feasibility study, including basic engineering design works and application for all necessary permits.
Local media reported that the plant in the Sungai Liang industrial zone is expected to start production by the end of 2008. The joint venture has also signed a memorandum of understanding with Brunei Shell Petroleum to supply 500 billion cubic feet of natural gas over 22 years as feedstock for the plant.
