The dynamically positioning vessel, built earlier this year by Sembawang Shipyard earlier this year is on a lease from Offshore Contractors (Offcon), owned by the Dutch Sea Trucks Group, which is based in Nigeria.
IOEC will be using the vessel for a pipelaying contract with QPD (Japan) at Qatar's Al Karkara oilfield starting next week. The 20,000-tonne vessel was last week at the UAE's Jebel Ali port being prepared for the project.
