Japan’s Jera is eyeing opportunities in Vietnam’s nascent liquefied natural gas industry that could see it jointly develop receiving and regasification facilities with Vietnam Electricity (EVN), writes Amanda Battersby.
The pair has entered into a memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the LNG value chain.
Opportunities that will be discussed between the two include joint procurement of LNG, collaboration on LNG shipping optimisation, introducing LNG to EVN’s power plants and the joint development of LNG terminals.
