Although constrained by test equipment, results indicated better than expected reservoir properties, including high connectivity, which suggested development wells could flow at an even greater rate.
The drillstem test was carried out by the drillship Deepsea Metro-1 about 40 kilometres off the coast in 1150 metres of water, on one of three successful wells on the field. BG Group chief executive Chris Finlayson said: “The completion of a multi-well exploration and appraisal programme on the Jodari field within a year of the original discovery builds on a run of exploration success offshore Tanzania… and greatly improves our understanding of the sub-surface.”
