The company applied to the US Department of Energy for the 30-year permit in late September, Joe B’Oris, commercial director for Jordan Cove LNG Project, said on the sidelines of the World Shale Gas conference in Houston.
“We expect to receive that any day now,” he said. “We were led to believe it could be as early as Friday.”
The permit would apply only to countries in free trade agreement with the US.
