Iraq is intensifying plans to build a long-delayed crude pipeline to Jordan as the country seeks to diversify its oil export routes and help reduce reliance on shipment through the Persian Gulf, writes Nassir Shirkhani.

Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban said his ministry had invited short-listed international contractors to bid for the project, which will take at least two years to complete from the award of the initial engineering, procurement and construction contract, which is expected in 2020.
