Sources said the Russian-Vietnamese joint venture Vietsovpetro will be brought in to fabricate a new tripod to be tied in to the existing facilities.
Rang Dong produced oil using a floating production, storage and offloading vessel operated by Monaco-based SBM Offshore from July 1998 through September 2008.
The vessel was subsequently replaced by Modec’s floating storage and offloading vessel Rang Dong MV17.
