State-owned Turkish Petroleum (TP) has completed drilling a controversial wildcat in waters claimed by Cyprus, writes Iain Esau.

Upstream understands that the TP-owned drillship Yavuz departed the Karpaz-1 well site between one and two weeks ago.

Yavuz is currently at anchor off Tasucu port on Turkey's south coast, according to the marinetraffic.com website.

Sources do not expect any information to emerge from TP about the results of the Karpuz-1 probe, which was spudded in August in Famagusta Bay off Cyprus' east coast.
