Chief executive Bill Utt said late last week that Anadarko had awarded KBR the pre-FEED work for its grassroots LNG project in Mozambique.

“Work on this project has already started and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2011,” he said.

Utt did not mention the scale of the proposed LNG plant, although Cove Energy, a partner with Anadarko in the project, has previously suggested a facility able to handle 15 million tonnes per annum through three trains.
