Seismic teams from Chinese contractor BGP were deployed to acquire 700 line kilometres on L-1B in the country’s remote north-west and another 325 kilometres on Lamu Basin block L-16, all targeting oil prospects in the Paleozoic, Jurassic, Cretaceous and Middle to Lower Tertiary sections.
Previous airborne gravity and magnetic surveys and preliminary results from the just-concluded seismic sweep are “encouraging”, according to Camac’s senior vice-president of exploration and production Segun Omidele.
