Singapore rig builder Keppel Offshore & Marine is aiming to counter the disappearance of new rig construction contracts through its $100 million acquisition of US contractor Cameron’s offshore rigs business, comprising the LeTourneau jack-up rig designs, rig kit business and after-market services.
The designs that Keppel is acquiring include the LeTourneau Super 116E, Workhorse, Super Gorilla XL and Jaguar, which will complement its existing offerings in the jack-up rig sector.
