South Sudan will restart crude exports via the pipeline running through neighbouring Sudan to Port Sudan from 2 September, writes Barry Morgan.
Exports will begin at a rate of 45,000 barrels per day from the El Toor and Toma South fields, followed by the Munga and Unity fields by the end of the year.
The timetable was communicated in a letter from South Sudan President Salva Kiir to Sudan President Omar el Beshir, delivered by South Sudan Oil Minister Ezekiel Lol Gatkuoth.
