The company's chief executive Don Voelte said the Browse LNG project had taken "a major step forward" following last month's agreement between Woodside, Aboriginal traditional owners and the state government to use the James Price Point area for a liquefied natural gas precinct.

"The Kimberley is now Woodside's favoured location for processing Browse gas, and we look forward to the Browse joint venture making its decision soon on the site for a processing facility, which we expect to have a production capacity in the range of 10 million to 15 million tonnes per annum," said Voelte.
