Oil Search has been successful with the first of two gas appraisal wells in Papua New Guinea's Forelands region. where it aims to build more gas volumes for potential liquefied natural gas export, writes Russell Searancke.
The Kimu-2 well spudded in Block PRL 8 on 22 April 2018 using High Arctic Energy's Rig 115.
The objective of the well was "to test the potential resource upside in the field and assist in selecting the optimal commercialisation pathway for the resource", said Oil Search.
