IHI E&C will also be responsible for start-up of the approximate $2 billion liquefaction project near Savannah, Georgia.
Elba Island LNG will comprise 10 movable modular liquefaction system trains using Shell’s proprietary technology with combined capacity of around 2.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
The units will connect to Kinder Morgan’s existing regasification terminal at Elba Island, which will be modified to receive LNG from the new liquefaction units.
