The UK supermajor revealed the sanction date for the 28-kilometre subsea tieback — part of the Andrew Area Development — is now expected towards the back end of the first quarter instead of late this year.
A BP spokesman said more time was needed to carry out definition work for the topsides module that will eventually be installed on the Andrew platform, which is 230 kilometres north-east of Aberdeen in blocks 16/27a and 16/28 of the central North Sea.
