Two Korean companies Korean National Oil Corporation and SK Corporation have equity in the Cuu Long joint operating company that discovered the field.
It is understood two wells have been drilled on Su Tu Trang in Block 15-1, which also contains the producing Su Tu Den oilfield, the under-development Su Tu Vang oilfield, and the under-appraisal Su Tu Nau oilfield.
Officials from the South Korean Energy Ministry said production at Su Tu Trang is expected to start in 2011, according to Reuters.
