Senegal’s stock in the energy industry rose further this week after US independent Kosmos Energy unveiled a “significant” gas discovery that has led to an upward revision of estimated resources at its play in the region.
The find at the Guembeul-1 well in the northern part of the St Louis Offshore Profund licence follows Cairn Energy’s success at the Sangomar Deep licence off the West African country, where the UK player struck oil.
