It will reprocess about 1100 square kilometres of 3D data as part of the initial phase of the six-and-a-half year exploration agreement.
Kosmos farmed out half its initial 36% interest in the block to Anadarko.
The remaining partners are operator Tullow Oil (49.95%), Aberdeen-based Sabre Oil&Gas (4.05%) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (10% carried).
Kosmos has also farmed down its original 86.5%
