US independent Kosmos Energy is set to drill an appraisal well this year on the long dormant G-13 oil discovery off Equatorial Guinea, which, if successful, could be exploited as a satellite to its Ceiba or Oveng-Okume facilities, writes Iain Esau.

Chief exploration officer Tracey Henderson said: “We’re looking to drill in the second half of 2019”, targeting material upside of anywhere between 25 million and 200 million barrels of oil.
