US independent Kosmos Energy is working to establish the size of an oil discovery off Equatorial Guinea’s Rio Muni enclave, which was made close to the Ceiba floating production, storage and offloading unit, write Barry Morgan and Josh Lewis.
The S-5 exploration well on Block S was drilled in around 800 metres of water to 44000 metres, hitting 39 metres of new oil pay in good quality Santonian reservoir, the Dallas-based player revealed this week.
