Rosneft-BP joint venture Yermak Neftegaz has discovered hydrocarbons in the Krasnoyarsk region of East Siberia, Russia.

Russian Natural Resources & Environment Minister Sergei Donskoy said the joint venture's debut exploration well, drilled to a depth of 3600 metres, on the Baikalovsky block was a success.

He said Yermak Neftegaz is currently assessing the size of the discovery, with final results expected to be submitted by the middle of this year.
