THE national oil company in Papua New Guinea is still a relatively new kid on the block, but is working hard to encourage the commercialisation of gas discoveries in the Western Province region, writes Russell Searancke.
Kumul Petroleum is the proponent of the Western Pipeline Project, which it unveiled late last year as a means of aggregating gas discoveries in Western Province and the Gulf of Papua and transporting that gas via a common carrier pipeline.
