Papua New Guinea's national energy company Kumul Petroleum has devised a new conceptual project called Kumul LNG, and has awarded a contract to KBR to evaluate the liquefied natural gas aspect of the idea, writes Russell Searancke.

Kumul said KBR will provide conceptual development and feasibility analysis on its proposed Kikori Energy Hub, which will contain a mid-scale LNG export facility, a 180-megawatt power generation facility, a methanol process facility and a condensate stabilisation, storage and regional export facility.
