The joint venture owners of the Kupe gas condensate field offshore New Zealand are examining various options for a second- phase development amid optimism that a reserves upgrade is on the cards.
A review of the timing and different types of development scenarios is scheduled to be completed in the coming months, with joint venture partner Genesis Energy indicating this week that near-field drilling and the addition of compression are almost certain to be included in the future plan so as to boost or extend production rates.
