State-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) is starting a high-profile offshore exploration campaign by awarding Halliburton an estimated $600 million drilling contract.

The campaign marks Kuwait’s first foray into offshore exploration in its Persian Gulf waters.

The contract involves drilling six high-pressure high-temperature exploration wells to be drilled by two jack-up rigs.

Halliburton will provide and manage drilling, fluids, wireline and perforating, well testing, coring, cementing, coiled tubing, and all offshore logistical services.
