Lamprell chief executive Peter Whitbread told Upstream the company traditionally a jack-up repair and maintenance provider will now target the newbuilding market for semi-submersibles and drillships, as well as floating production, storage and offloading vessels for both oilfields and liquefied natural gas projects.
A key element of Lamprell's plan revolves around its recent acquisition of an extra 260,000 square metres of land alongside its existing facility in the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, which will open up new yard space at the start of next year.
