Late submission to EITI

Myanmar, which signed up to the EITI under the previous Thein Sein government, completed its initial report early last year.

However, progress on the EITI has reportedly stalled since the National League for Democracy-backed government took office, and there is said to be no chance of Myanmar being able to submit its second annual report by next month’s deadline. The request for a one-year extension was made to the EITI on 31 January, the last possible day for such an application.
