One contractor has moved into pole position to land a prized front-end engineering and design contract from Australian operator Woodside for its US$15 billion Browse liquefied natural gas project.
Sources said US services giant KBR has pulled ahead of its main rival Aker Solutions and is in position to be awarded the FEED contract for the two large floating production, storage and offloading vessels once Woodside and its Browse joint venture partners are ready to commit.
