A joint venture has emerged as the leading candidate to buy four unfinished ultra-deepwater drilling rigs from Brazilian rig-charterer Sete Brasil.
The joint venture is between Magni Partners, controller of Oslo-listed Borr Drilling, and Brazilian contractor Etesco
Borr Drilling, led by Norwegian businessman Tor Olav Troim, has already built up a big fleet of premium jack-up units, and is now plotting a daring entry into ultra-deepwater drilling, multiple sources in Brazil and Europe told Upstream.
