A pre-qualification exercise for Lebanon’s second licensing round is set to start within weeks.
A source close to the planned acreage offering said oil companies interested are due to start being pre-qualified “this month”.
It is understood the proposed timetable would call for bids to be submitted this October, with contracts finalised in early 2020.
Four blocks are available: Block 1 in the far north-west, blocks 8 and 10 which are located adjacent to the disputed maritime boundary with Israel, and Block 5 immediately north of Block 8.
