Israel’s Energy Ministry has gone public with the details of a framework arrangement which, if approved, would leave a US-Israeli consortium in control of the country’s largest offshore project, Leviathan, and open the gas industry to new competition.
The plan has drawn opposition from several Cabinet ministers, who accuse the government of putting the interests of oil companies before those of the Israeli consumers.
