The Chinese government has appointed Li Yong, who had been the executive vice president of offshore giant CNOOC Ltd, to be the vice president of fellow state-owned oil and gas company Sinopec, writes Xu Yihe.
The promotion, announced by the State-owned Assets Supervision & Administration Commission of the State Council, which oversees operations of Chinese state owned enterprises is expected to help the country’s second-largest oil company boost its activities in offshore oil and gas.
