Houston-based Oceaneering has been awarded a contract by Chinese offshore operator CNOOC Ltd to provide umbilicals and flexible pipelines for the Liuhua oil development in the Pearl River Mouth basin of the South China Sea, writes Xu Yihe.
Oceaneering emerged as the preferred bidder against UK-based cables supplier JDR and TechnipFMC, even though it offered a price higher than JDR.
