“Our first project will be planned as a phased development comprising a near-shore FLNG facility with 2.5 million tonnes per annum nominal capacity and we are presently assessing a range of potential near-shore FLNG locations,” said Lloyds chief executive Konstantinos Mitropoulos.

US contractor KBR started the front-end engineering and design work in April for the topsides and hull of the near-shore FLNG barges and Lloyds reckons this study work should be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2016.

KBR
