Mexican president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and his energy team met with oil industry business people in the Mexican state of Tabasco last weekend as the politician talked up his plans to revitalise the country’s oil sector, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The politician told attendees at a hotel ballroom in Villahermosa, as well as other public appearances, that the new administration is planning specific actions to reboot oil and gas production when it takes office in December, including tenders for services such as drilling wells.
