During the exercise, on 10 August, the hydraulic jacking system failed, damaging the jacket and leading to the possibility that it may need to be replaced.
“There is a possibility that the jacket will need to be rebuilt and reinstalled,” said an industry official.
“If that happens, first oil of Lufeng will be delayed for at least one or one and half years.”
